Randers, 18 December 2012
On 1 January 2013, Danish Crown is acquiring all the shares in Team Ugglarp.
In addition to the parent, KLS Ugglarps AB, Danish Crown’s slaughterhouse activities in Sweden comprise a subsidiary called Team Ugglarp, which runs Sweden’s second-largest cattle slaughterhouse in Hörby in Skåne.
Up until now, ownership of this company has been divided between the Danish Crown group, which owns 51 per cent, and its former owner, Tommy Olsson, who is also the company’s CEO, who has a 49 per cent stake.
However, as from 1 January 2013, this is changing with Danish Crown taking over all the shares in the company in accordance with the agreements which were made in conjunction with the majority takeover back in 2008. Tommy Olsson, who is 62, has decided to step down in connection with this change of ownership, and the company will now share the same management as the parent company KLS Ugglarps AB with Johan Andersson as CEO.
The Danish Crown group is the second-largest pig and cattle slaughterhouse business in Sweden, in addition to which it has retail packing and meat processing facilities in the country.
