1. Danish Crown will ensure that the physical soy that is part of the company's production is certified by a third party or verified as responsible and does not cause deforestation. In addition, Danish Crown will ensure that we live up to our obligation to the Danish Alliance for Responsible Soy.

2. Danish Crown will request RTRS or RTRS equivalent certificates / credits to cover the company's Danish production with effect from 1st October 2020. Danish Crown is hereby expected to represent a very significant part of the global market for RTRS soy. Purchases will therefore be made based on availability and within a framework determined by the current market price for RTRS credits to allow for a smooth expansion of the credit market.

3. Danish Crown wants to support schemes with a potential to move the entire market towards certified or verified responsible soy.

Danish Crown will therefore work towards a comprehensive model for releasing credit purchases with demands from our suppliers that they can document that their purchased feed is responsibly produced and does not cause deforestation and complies with the European Feeding Industry FEFAC's guidelines for responsible soy – yet in a way so that small quantities of RTRS or RTRS equivalent credits will continue to be accepted to cover any missing supplies of responsible soy.

In parallel with the above, Danish Crown will work for the ongoing work under FEFAC to restrict the guidelines for responsible soy, so that the guidelines for responsible soy guarantee deforestation-free soy in all FEFAC approved schemes.

The goal is that all soy included in Danish pig production is traceable and documented free of deforestation legally or illegally - by 2025.

4. Danish Crown works in Danish Protein Innovation to develop alternative, Danish-produced sustainable protein sources with a strong environmental and climate profile. The goal is that up to one third of the need for protein feed can be met by newly developed Danish protein sources within 3-5 years.
