Danish Crown’s organic subsidiary, Friland, is set to welcome a new CEO. Søren Tinggaard accepted the top role at Danish Crown’s Member Services about a month ago. He is being succeeded by Svend Schou Borch, who has held CEO positions at food companies in Denmark such as Atria, HKScan, and Thise Mejeri.

Mike Sauerberg, who is responsible for Global Sales, including the distribution of Friland’s quality products, is very pleased with the appointment.

“With Svend, we gain an experienced top executive with solid national and international expertise within the FMCG sector. He has delivered significant results to the companies he has led and possesses a deep understanding of the entire value chain. He leads with a clear and value-driven foundation – and combines professional strength with an approachable and trustworthy leadership style. This makes him a strong match for the role,” says Mike Sauerberg.

Chairman of Friland, Peter Fallesen Ravn, also expresses satisfaction in having secured a strong candidate for the position at Friland.

“Friland is getting a highly competent CEO who brings substantial commercial experience, knows what it takes to lead an organisation, and not least holds a deep passion for the way Friland’s suppliers work, which is a huge advantage when it comes to developing Friland in close cooperation with its suppliers,” says Peter Fallesen Ravn.

Svend Schou Borch is looking forward to taking on the responsibility for Friland and what he calls an exciting and meaningful role in a company with strong values and great potential.

“I’m truly looking forward to getting started. Organic products are gaining ground in general, and there have been clear political goals set in this segment. At the same time, Friland has a very strong brand, and a heritage built on decades of history. We need to build on that, and I look forward to contributing to the continued expansion of organic farming in close collaboration with Friland’s employees as well as its dedicated farmers,” says Svend Schou Borch.

Svend Schou Borch’s first day at Friland will be September 8.
