A strong history
With well over a century of farming and butchery expertise, pork and beef are our speciality. We have roots back to 1887 when a group of Danish farmers formed the first farming cooperative, and since then Danish Crown has been exporting Danish bacon to the UK!

Our rich heritage has given us unique industry know-how and significant investment in farming and manufacturing processes, meaning our food safety and animal welfare standards are some of the highest in the world. We have built on this strong foundation to deliver global scale, spanning 5 continents.

'Farm to fork' supply chain ownership

We own our entire supply chain from farm to fork and pride ourselves on the quality of our Danish raw material, supplied by our very own farmers.

Despite market challenges in recent years, we are continuing to grow, increasing our production capacity and investing in state-of-the-art equipment, expanding our capabilities and improving our delivery options here in the UK. Danish Crown is proven to be a partner you can rely on.

Global scale, tailored locally

Today, the UK remains one of the company’s most important export markets. Our UK business currently operates 7 sites nationwide, with an additional bacon and gammon processing facility due to open in 2024. From all of our specialist locations we supply customers with our high quality Danish products, tailored locally by our expert butchers.

Danish Crown is one of the world’s largest exporters and one of Europe’s largest producers of pork.

A peak behind the scenes...

Better food. Brighter future

Together with our farmers, our mission is to create food that makes a difference to people and the planet, and we are proud to be leading the way towards creating a more sustainable future for food.

As a global meat producer, we have big obligations; not just to deliver, but to explore new opportunities. We still have a long way to go, but we remain committed to improving how food is produced - with respect for animals, people and the environment. In this quest, we are prepared to challenge ourselves, the industry and the market.

Climate-neutral meat production by 2050

100% of our Danish farmers have now signed up to The Climate Track, meaning they are dedicated to our vision of achieving net-zero meat production by 2050. From transportation and biodiversity to renewable energy and water usage, we have implemented a number of beneficial climate initiatives and every day we are working on doing things a little better.

We understand the connection between where our food comes from, how it tastes, and how it impacts our world.
