At Danish Crown, we continually strive to improve what we do – from farm to fork – so people around the world can enjoy tasty, nutritious meals, with full confidence. We have roots back to 1887 when a group of Danish farmers formed the first farming cooperative, so responsibility towards society, employees and our owners, the farmers, is simply part of our DNA.
Being a global leader in sustainable meat production is a big duty. Denmark has been ranked the world’s most sustainable pork producing country by the World Resource Institute, but we are still striving to do more. We are determined to find better ways to produce food – with respect for livestock, people and the environment.
This has already led to numerous beneficial climate initiatives, from lowering transportation time of our animals, to reducing energy and water usage, to developing ways of packaging that helps to improve both shelf life and meat taste.
Percent of our Danish farmers have now joined the Climate Track.
And it doesn’t stop there. 100% of our Danish farmers have now joined the Climate Track, meaning they are on the journey to becoming climate neutral by 2050. Because we understand the connection between where our food comes from, how it tastes, and how it impacts our world.
Our Pure Pork pigs are raised without antibiotics from birth, strictly no growth promoters and dedication to high animal welfare standards on family farms. Meaning you can serve your family dinner with peace of mind knowing the ingredients are natural, nutritious and made with great care.
