How many people have visited the new slaughterhouse in Horsens?

Answer:
Each day the slaughterhouse receives approx. 150 visitors from all over the world. In its first year, more than 28,000 people visited the slaughterhouse, many of whom were foreigners. Guided tours are conducted in the following languages: Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English, German, Polish and Italian.

What does a guided tour of the slaughterhouse Danish Crown Horsens involve?

Answer:
Generally speaking, a visit starts with an introduction to Danish Crown and to the world’s most advanced slaughterhouse. Then follows a guided tour along the visitors’ gallery which runs the length of the production facility. The gallery provides a perfect view of all the slaughtering processes as well as an insight into how Danish Crown treats and processes the meat which eventually ends up as joints of roast pork on the supper table. The visit concludes with a Q&A session.

How many visitors can you accommodate at a time?

Answer:
Visits are for groups only, not individual persons. We cater for groups ranging in size from twelve to 55 persons.

Question:
When can we visit the new slaughterhouse in Horsens?

Answer:
Visitors are received Monday to Friday, from 9.00 until the last admission at 18.30 pm. On Fridays, the last admission is at 13.00. Please note that day visits currently have to be booked approx. 5 months in advance, while evening visits must be booked about one year in advance.
