Optimising cooling plants

Process cooling is the single most electricity-consuming process in slaughterhouses. For this reason, we have for many years focused on the efficiency of our cooling plants. Initiatives include the ongoing optimisation of condenser pressure in existing cooling plants, and heat recovery systems have been implemented at all pig slaughterhouses. When purchasing new cooling plants, energy efficiency is given a high priority. The optimisation of cooling plants contributes quite substantially to the fall in CO2 emissions per pig slaughtered.

Vidste du ...
… that Danish veterinary inspections and controls are amongst the strictest in the world.

Regulatory veterinary inspections of Danish Crown sites are carried out independently of Danish Crown. However, Danish Crown supplements these with its own internal inspections in accordance with international HACCP Principles.

All slaughterhouse employees are required to complete a hygiene course, and everyone understands what the individual worker means for the quality of finished product.
