Danish Crown are ready with an emergency plan for their slaughterings after fire in Blans
Randers, 17 April 2007
Danish Crowns pig slaughterhouse in Blans caught fire Monday. The damages are severe but even before the fire at the plant in Blans was put out, Danish Crown had prepared an emergency plan in order to secure that all the pigs will be slaughtered. On a meeting yesterday afternoon, a task force found several solutions to change the production, so that the slaughter capacity remains at the unchanged level.
The emergency plan secures continuity of pork to the various export markets. Customers and consumers can look forward to a continous supply of quality meat from Danish Crown.
- Danish Crown is working intensively to re-establish our capacity as quickly as possible, and with this emergency plan in place we expect that our export markets will not be affected by the fire in terms of deliveries, says Divisional Director Jens Haven Christiansen.
