Scan-Hide was established in 1991 by a number of Danish slaughterhouse companies, and at that time it had a market share of approx. 25%, corresponding to about 200,000 cattle hides a year.

Today, the company is processing 809,000 hides a year from cattle slaughterhouses (Including hides from Schlachtzentrum Nordfriesland) and  hides from destruction plants.

This strong growth has permitted investment in the production plant, and today Scan-Hide is therefore a modern company with a completely mechanised plant for salting and processing of hides.
